Emergency Power Hubs for Communities.
Over the Summer a small team from Dragonfly Power have been working hard to help four Test Valley communities in applying for funds to upgrade their village halls to be emergency power hubs.
Changing a community facility to an emergency power hub will typically use solar panels and other low-carbon technologies to ensure the community building can continue to operate as a centre if there is a major power failure.
The Dragonfly team have commissioned feasibility studies, helped define what work is needed to create the emergency power hubs and helped organise quotations for the proposed works. The applications have been submitted to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks for a grant from their Powering Communities to Net Zero fund, we are now waiting for the results and hope they have been successful.
